When you buy your curtains, bring with you your sofa pillow cover, so that you can actually see if the color combination is, well, attractive. When you're hanging picutres or paintings up on your wall, never ask a really tall person to do it for you, it would actually end up too high for the normal
eye level. And for your radiators or heaters, paint them the same color as your wall, so it wouldn't look too obvious or awkwardly-placed in your room corners.
